“Players need help with proper alignment and movement through the entire shot. As a veteran shooting coach, I thought that there had to a better way to teach shooting technique. The Ringer is incredibly simple but teaches proper form at many pivotal moments in the full cycle of the shot”
-Coach Jonathan Piazza
WHY DID I MAKE IT?
I Began to see a pattern in the problems’ players were having as I watched them miss over and over again without changing their approach or correcting their form. Most of them would not leave their shooting barrel up long enough to have a clue what they did, be it right or wrong miss or make.
These same patterns were even revealed with great shooters at a professional level who were trying to become precision shooters with more consistency.
The conclusion that I came to was that not only do players at all levels not know what they are doing wrong to correct their mechanics. But seem to think they just get hot or cold without any rhyme or reason. There fore not knowing what they did right in order to repeat the mechanics that caused them to get hot.
WHO AM I?
My name is Jonathan Piazza. I am a basketball coach, instructor and creator of the Ringer. Over my 30 years of player and coach, I have successfully decoded the mechanics of a jump shot and devised a formula revealing the re-enforcement of correct form to a player.
I train clients at every level from youth to pro. As a kid I always had an eye for the perfect jump shot. I was constantly trying to emulate players with perfect form whom were consistent throughout a variety of difficult yet relevant outside shots.
So, I dissected the shot from start to finish many times over. I knew the mechanics of the body positions, hand placement, feet placement and eventually understanding the entire rhythm of a jump shot.
Its’ like having a shooting coach right there on your hand providing instant visual feedback with every practice shot you take. There is no other shooting aid that provides this feedback with both arms throughout the entire cycle of the shot.
WHY THE RINGER IS UNIQUE
We have never had a precise tool to allow players to independently know what they are doing right to repeat a successful motion or what they are doing wrong in order to independently correct a players mistakes.
So, I created the Ringer, to teach perfect mechanics at a low cost. The result has been astounding as it transcends all levels of play creating more purposeful practice and warm up shots and a total boost in confidence. The ringer creates bio-mechanical awareness of both hands, wrist and arms through the entire cycle of the shot.
HOW CAN THE RINGER HELP YOUR SHOT?
As I began to recognize a pattern of traits shared amongst the greatest shooters of all time, I learned to emulate these actions and they have since become the basis of my coaching approach to basketball shooting. I am specifically referring to the positioning and movements of the hands, wrist and guide arm throughout the entire cycle of the shot.
I believe these actions make or break a consistent jump shot and when I see my players master this, everything else quickly falls into place. When I finally developed the Ringer, I knew I finally had a tool to give my players the tactile, kinesthetic and visual feedback they needed to independently correct their form.
Leventrice Grey, Pro Basketball Player
I’ve played basketball at every level as a 6'6 swing man. After training with the Ringer and Coach Piazza, I have actually turned into an elite shooting guard. I needed this in college so bad, but I am glad to have it now. The confidence I gained through the Ringer, has allowed me to make major changes without the weight of being tied to years of bad habits. The fact that I can validate what I am doing right with both arms and hands is a game changer.
